Hot Row-Crop Markets Attempt to Stay Higher for Longer
December corn is up 6 1/2 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 8 1/4
cents, December KC wheat is up 6 cents, December Chicago wheat is up 6 cents,
and MIAX December Minneapolis wheat is up 0.0200 cents.

EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 6 1/2 cents per
bushel, November soybeans are up 8 1/4 cents, December KC wheat is up 6 cents,
December Chicago wheat is up 6 cents, and MIAX December Minneapolis wheat is up
0.0200 cents.
CME GLOBEX RECAP: On Thursday, December corn dropped 3 cents, November
soybeans rose 2 cents, and September KC wheat rose 11 1/2 cents. Corn and soft
red winter wheat basis held steady on Thursday, while soybean and hard red
winter wheat basis weakened and hard red spring wheat basis strengthened. On
Thursday, the soybean market staged an impressive comeback after weaker
overnight trading, boosted by weekly export sales figures. The wheat market
surged on the escalation of war between Russia and Ukraine. Corn prices dropped
for the first time in six trading sessions. The EIA reported on Thursday that
U.S. diesel supplies have reached their lowest seasonal level ever, with
distillate fuel oil stocks at 103.4 million barrels. Crude oil prices extended
this week's losses with reports of producers able to export through the Strait
of Hormuz. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will speak from Jackson Hole at 9
a.m. CDT on Friday. At 2:30 p.m. CDT, the CFTC releases its Commitments of
Traders report, including position updates as of Tuesday, August 25.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: The previous close on Thursday showed the Dow Jones
Industrial Average up 105.56 at 53,569.44 and the S&P 500 up 55.29 at 7,730.99.
The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.672%. Early Friday, the September Dow
Jones Futures are up 59 points. European markets are higher, with the spot
futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.16%, spot futures of Germany's DAX
trading up 0.69%, and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 1.01%. Asian
markets are mixed, with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.41% and China's Shanghai
Composite Index down 0.11%.
