OMAHA (DTN) -- Average retail fertilizer prices were evenly mixed during the third week of August 2025, with half higher and half lower than the previous month, according to sellers surveyed by DTN. No fertilizer saw a significant move in either direction, which DTN designates as anything 5% or more.

The four fertilizers with slightly higher average retail prices were DAP, which had an average price of $847 per ton, MAP $906/ton, potash $485/ton and UAN28 $419/ton.

MAP was above the $900-per-ton level for the first time since the third week of December 2022. That week, MAP's average price was $909/ton.

Prices for the remaining four fertilizers were down slightly from last month. Urea had an average price of $635/ton, 10-34-0 $669/ton, anhydrous $762/ton and UAN32 $484/ton.

On a price per pound of nitrogen basis, the average urea price was $0.69/lb.N, anhydrous $0.46/lb.N, UAN28 $0.75/lb.N and UAN32 $0.76/lb.N.

Brazil Potash Corp announced recently the execution of a definitive commercial offtake agreement between Potassio do Brasil Ltda., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, and Keytrade Fertilizantes Brasil Ltda, the Brazilian subsidiary of Keytrade AG, one of the world's leading fertilizer trading companies.

The binding agreement establishes a 10-year take-or-pay commitment for Keytrade to purchase up to 900,000 tons of potash annually from Brazil Potash's Autazes Potash Project.

"This agreement with Keytrade is a major milestone in Brazil Potash's commercial development," Matt Simpson, CEO of Brazil Potash, said. "Combined with our existing take-or-pay agreement with Agaggi Exportacao Ltda, we now have binding commitments for 1.45 million tons of our planned 2.4 million tons of annual production."

Also, Tuesday at the Farm Progress Show, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced a new ammonia fertilizer plant to be built in the state. See DTN Ag Policy Editor Chris Clayton's coverage here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….

Seven fertilizers are now higher in price compared to one year earlier. 10-34-0 is 5% higher, MAP is 11% more expensive, DAP and anhydrous are both 14% higher, UAN28 is 27% more expensive, urea is 29% higher and UAN32 is 30% more expensive looking back to last year.

The remaining fertilizer continues to be slightly lower. Potash is 2% lower compared to last year.

DTN gathers fertilizer price bids from agriculture retailers each week to compile the DTN Fertilizer Index. DTN first began reporting data in November 2008.

Fertilizer imports into Vietnam are expected to slow in the third quarter of the year, according to article in worldfertilizer.com. You can read about it here: https://www.dtnpf.com/….
